01 · The problem
People move for work, for love, for a fresh start. Wherever they go, the first hurdles are the same: somewhere to live, a new language, a job.
Starting a job before you have learned the language is especially hard. Everything you need to know is written down, but in a language you don't read yet. Knowledge people can't read is knowledge they can't use.
Companies now hire across borders, but their documentation still exists in one language. That costs time, wastes talent, and puts invisible walls between people and the information they need.
02 · Origin
Interpress started with a real request. A manufacturer in the EU asked us where AI could make a practical difference in his business. After a few iterations the problem was clear: onboarding foreign employees who were still learning the local language took far too much of his time.
He also wanted an LLM on top of his existing library of documents and internal databases. The agent we built for him did both, and it became the basis of Interpress. The name comes from the Latin interpres: interpreter, translator.

03 · Pipeline
Four steps take a document from one language to every language, and make it searchable on the way.
Add PDF, Word, PowerPoint and Excel files (PDF, DOCX, DOC, PPT, PPTX, XLSX). Coworkers can upload their own content too.
Neural machine translation into any of 249 languages. The file is rebuilt in the target language with its layout, tables and styles intact, ready to use without re-editing.
Each document is embedded and stored in a vector database, so it can be found by meaning, not just keywords, whatever language it was written in.
An AI agent searches, summarises and explains your documents in the language you ask in. If the answer isn't in your documents, it says so.
04 · Why not a chatbot
A chat assistant can read a document and reply with translated text. Interpress gives you back the document itself.
